Vaastu and miscarriages, did you surprised on reading this title, but it is true, an ancient science Vaastu-shastra explains all about how to use five universal elements (Water, Fire, Sir, Earth and Space) in pregnancy and child birth. If these five elements are balanced in the house there should be healthy pregnancy and child birth.

According to Vaastu Shastra, the Fire [Agni] element is associated to conceive and growing the baby in a woman’s womb. This is why a hen sits on its eggs, to provide much required warmness and heat.

Here, we quote the attributes of each direction and the ruling elements

1. Northeast or (Eshyana) direction is ruled by Water
2. Fire or Agni is the ruling element of Southeast or Agneya
3. Southwest or (Nairuitya) Direction is ruled by Earth
4. Northwest direction or (Vayvya) is ruled by Air
5. And Space element rules the Centre of the house [Brahmsthan].

Considering the above facts, we have created some do’s and don’ts according to Vaastu Shastra while conceiving a child.

Vaastu tips on Pregnancy “Avoid These”

1. Couple using Northeast bedroom, the woman won’t conceive a child; still if she conceives, being water is the attribute of Northeast which will not provide adequate heat to reach the foetus, which otherwise my results in miscarriage or abortion.
2. According to Vaastu-shastra, once woman conceives, she should not stay in Southeast bedroom, because the attribute of Southeast direction is Fire so, Southeast Vaastu and Miscarriages are co-related.
3. Ensure that there is no staircase or heavy weight in center of the house [Brahmsthan] which is a Vaastu Defect (Dosh) here and may lead to various complications in pregnancy.
4. A pregnant woman should not stay in dark place; she should always stay in light around her.
5. A pregnant woman should always avoid anything which depresses her like a gloomy or unhappy movie, TV show etc.
6. A pregnant lady should never use dark and drab colored clothes such as black, dark red etc.
7. Paintings which show negative feelings and moods such as war, violence, cruelty, grief etc. should not be placed in the house during the entire period of Pregnancy
8. Vaastu and miscarriages are related and activates when one keeps bonsai plant or thorny plants in house.
9. A pregnant woman should never use a bathroom under a staircase or beam.
10. A pregnant woman should never sleep under a beam.
11. Minimize the use of all electronic gadgets such as cell phones, TV, tablets, laptops etc. as they emit huge amounts of heat and electromagnetic radiation that leads to miscarriage.
12. Being Southeast is the fire element, and the South is the habitat of Yama, the God of Death. Hence, spending more time in the South / Southeast of the house may tempt miscarriages. 

Vaastu for Pregnancy “Follow These”

1. A couple may use the Southeast bedroom to conceive, after the lady becomes pregnant, she has to move in to Southwest bedroom.
2. Pregnant women always watch motivational movies, read good literature etc.
3. Wear something light and cheerful colored clothes like light blue, green, yellow, white etc. which should be bright and attractive.
4. Hanging beautiful scenery paintings can provide pleasing to mind and eyes of a Pregnant women
5. A pregnant woman should meditate in Northeast direction in the morning time because beneficial UV rays are rich in Northeast during morning time.
6. Always keep fresh flowers and positive atmosphere in the house.
7. If you are having trouble in sleeping, try sleeping with your head towards south direction, so as to maintain the natural polarity of your body and health of both yourself and your foetus.
